He pointed out that while California expanded its film tax incentive to $750 million last year, projects typically require a budget of at least $1 million to qualify, a threshold that most microdramas, with their average budgets around $200,000, cannot meet. This disparity often forces productions out of Los Angeles, hindering local job creation and economic growth.
