"Ally" has been under development since 2019, marking Bong Joon-ho's initial venture into the realm of 3D animation. He co-penned the script with rising talent Jason Yu, recognized for directing the 2023 Korean horror success "Sleep." The narrative centers on a curious piglet squid from the South Pacific who dreams of experiencing the surface world and becoming a wildlife documentary sensation.
