This article explores the release of the Raymond Weil Millesime Jubilee Chronograph, a timepiece designed to mark the brand's enduring legacy and 50th anniversary. It highlights the watch's vintage-inspired design, its technical specifications, and its position as a more attainable option for collectors compared to previous commemorative editions.

A Golden Anniversary: Raymond Weil's Enduring Legacy Reflected in a New Chronograph

The Evolution of Anniversary Celebrations: From Limited Edition to Accessible Elegance

Founded in 1976, Raymond Weil has been commemorating its half-century milestone throughout 2026. Following the exclusive release of 'The Fifty' at Watches & Wonders, a limited-edition chronograph featuring restored vintage movements, the brand continues its celebratory journey with the introduction of the Millesime Jubilee Chronograph. This new model, while retaining the neo-vintage charm of 'The Fifty', offers a more approachable way for watch enthusiasts to partake in the festivities, featuring a classic automatic caliber and a distinctive bicompax dial arrangement.

Craftsmanship and Design: The Millesime Jubilee's Distinctive Case Features

Encased in a 39mm diameter and 12.9mm thick stainless steel body, the Millesime Jubilee exhibits the signature compact dimensions synonymous with the Millesime series. Its design is further enhanced by a flat, multi-layered bezel reminiscent of chronographs from the 1940s, complemented by elegantly rounded lugs. The watch is equipped with a glassbox sapphire crystal, treated with anti-reflective coating on both sides, and a sapphire caseback that provides a view of the intricate movement within. Traditional pushers at 2 and 4 o'clock, alongside a fluted crown adorned with the RW emblem, complete the sophisticated exterior. The timepiece boasts a water resistance of 50 meters.

Dial Aesthetics: A Symphony of Colors and Textures

The Millesime Jubilee Chronograph's dial is a captivating four-part composition, showcasing a richer palette than its predecessor, 'The Fifty'. A silver-toned, finely textured ring delineates the hour markers, while a silver flange with an azurage finish encircles a delicate light blue central disk. Two deep midnight-blue sub-dials, positioned at 3 and 9 o'clock, define the bi-compax chronograph layout, setting this edition apart from the standard Millesime Automatic Chronograph. The central section, featuring alternating gadroon patterns, proudly displays the raised Raymond Weil Genève logo and "EST 1976" within an elegant cartouche. Black hour markers and obelisk-shaped hands are enhanced with green-emitting Super-LumiNova for optimal readability. The running seconds are indicated on the 9 o'clock counter, while the 3 o'clock register tracks the chronograph minutes. Notably, the watch maintains a clean, date-free display.

The Heart of the Chronograph: Movement and Precision

At the core of this timepiece lies the automatic RW5030 caliber, a re-engineered Sellita SW510 movement, which itself traces its lineage back to the revered Valjoux 7750. This mechanical bi-compax chronograph offers a substantial 62-hour power reserve, accurately displaying hours, minutes, small seconds, and central chronograph seconds, along with a 30-minute counter. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement is visible through the sapphire caseback. Despite its industrial origins, it boasts a refined matte finish and features a distinctive openworked, branded rotor.

Pricing and Availability: A Timely Acquisition

The Raymond Weil Millesime Jubilee is presented on a midnight-blue calfskin strap, secured by a classic pin buckle. This limited edition comprises 500 pieces, priced at CHF 3,895, EUR 4,275, or USD 4,275, making it an exclusive yet more attainable celebratory piece for connoisseurs.
