Timex and Dimepiece Unveil 'Blackout' Intrepid Edition

Expanding on a successful collaboration, Timex and Dimepiece have unveiled the 'Blackout' edition of the Intrepid timepiece. This new iteration subtly enhances the aesthetic while retaining the core features that made its predecessor popular. Unlike the trend of enlarging vintage watch designs, this series maintains a refined 36mm case, appealing to enthusiasts who appreciate classic proportions.

The latest 'Blackout' model introduces a sophisticated black PVD-coated stainless steel case and a matching blacked-out Timex Indiglo branding on its rubber strap. Beyond these stylish modifications, the watch preserves its distinctive cream dial with Indiglo illumination and a bezel adorned with dive markings, replacing the original slide rule. Vibrant purple accents, consistent with the Dimepiece brand, highlight the twelve o'clock marker, the seconds hand, and the nine o'clock Indiglo pusher, adding a unique touch to the design. The watch is priced at $269 and is available through official retailers.

This renewed offering provides a welcome opportunity for those who missed out on the initial release, presenting a fresh yet familiar take on a charming 1990s aesthetic. It demonstrates how minor adjustments can significantly alter the overall feel of a product while upholding its intrinsic appeal, proving that sometimes, the best approach is to refine rather than reinvent.
